Awaken the Papa Carlo in you, build an SUV
Joke, joke, joke? No matter how it is! The Garage 54 auto repair shop has turned into an exclusive body shop. In all seriousness. True, for one specific model. Until the middle of the last century, the norm was technology when the car chassis and body were created separately. I remember that vehicles with bodies came out of specialized workshops of extraordinary beauty. At the dawn of mechanical engineering, bodies were made of wood.

Cheerful inventors, brave experimenters from Garage 54 set out to repeat the work of 100 years ago. We decided to build “clothes” for... They took a big swing - they took the Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG as the “prototype”. For the chassis we chose a frame with a truck engine. Now the boards. Giggles aside here: precise calculations are needed so that the design does not produce “crickets” in the cabin or is blown by the wind.

We assessed the “technical characteristics” of different tree species. We settled on larch: heavy, but impact-resistant. We made drawings and calculated the number of beams for the sheathing and boards for the sheathing. The timber was taken with dimensions of 50x50 mm. The planks were processed and cut according to the “designer” sketches. Garage 54 temporarily became Papa Carlo's workshop. However, the stages and the amazing result of the work are in the video provided to us by the author of the channel, Vladislav Barashenkov.
