The car, called Magotan, has a body length of 4990 mm with a wheelbase of 2871 mm, like the original Passat. Despite the increased size, the luggage compartment volume has decreased from the previous 533 liters to 520 liters.
The sedan's body lines are sharper than those of the European original, but it still recognisably belongs to the same family.

The base engine of the Volkswagen Magotan will be a 1,5-liter turbo engine with 160 hp. s., and in the more expensive configuration a 2,0-liter turbocharged engine with 220 hp is offered. Both variants come with a 7-speed DCT transmission.
The new product is expected to go on sale towards the end of 2024. The official cost has not yet been announced.
