Chery has started selling Explore 06 crossovers in an extreme version

The Chery concern has finally announced the start of live sales of the Explore 06 crossover in the Secret Knight Edition. This car is suitable for lovers of active recreation and travelers. Although, for those who are looking for a real “rogue”, the model is not recommended. This is simply a raised crossover with a number of external off-road features.


Let us remind you that in other countries, including Russia, Chery Explore 06 is offered as Jaecoo J7. It is under this name that the crossover is known in Russia.

Until recently, Chery Explore 06 was sold in the Middle Kingdom only in two versions - standard and brutal, which is also more off-road. The Secret Knight Edition modification existed only as a pre-production prototype.


And now it finally went into production. This car is already in stock in the showrooms of official dealers. Naturally, so far only in China.

By the way, the prototype presented last year was called exactly that – Secret Knight Edition. Since the audience liked the car, they decided to promote it under this name.

Externally, it differs from the usual Chery Explore 06 “Secret Knight”, and this is how the modification is translated, primarily in its original body kit. It includes its own bumpers. Despite their brutal appearance, they are not strong. To enhance the impression of the crossover, it was equipped with linings on the arches and running boards made of unpainted plastic.

The hood received air intakes. There is no real need for them, because the new version of Chery Explore 06 has a standard engine for the entire line. This is a turbocharged power unit with a volume of 1,6 liters and a power of 197 hp. With. But the air intakes give the impression that this is a sports SUV.

An almost expeditionary trunk was placed on the roof. And even if it lacks side limiters all around, it does have diode lamps.

Got a crossover and an original radiator grille. A small waterproof box was placed on the left rear part, immediately behind the counter.


In terms of dimensions, the car is mid-size – its length is 4,33 meters. This is 5 millimeters more than other versions of Chery Explore 06. We can thank the original bumpers for this.

The interior of the Secret Knight Edition is no different except for the color scheme. It's here in black with narrow red accents. The equipment is rich - if compared with other modifications of Chery Explore 06, then it is “top-end”.

For such a crossover in China they ask from 160 thousand yuan (2,02 million rubles).
