The Stelato brand owes its appearance to the state corporation BAIC. After analyzing the success of the Luxeed S7, a sedan created by Chery together with Huawei, they decided to follow the same path. And it’s not for nothing that the new car looks similar to its closest competitor.
The Stelato S9 and Luxeed S7 have common doorways, a roof line, and side rear-view mirrors. The optics, created using the same Huawei xPixel technology, and almost all electronics are similar. It couldn’t be otherwise – after all, Huawei is responsible for it. However, the new electric car, according to the creators, has received more advanced and modified active safety and multimedia systems.

The Stelato S9 can be distinguished from the Luxeed S7 by a specific LED strip at the front and a different rear bumper. If you put two electric cars side by side, the new product will be larger in size. For example, the length of the Stelato is 5,16 meters versus 4,97 for the Luxeed S7.
Taken as a whole, BAIC has done “work on the mistakes.” Their Stelato S9 can be called the “big brother” of the Luxeed S7, despite the fact that the latter appeared earlier.
The new electric car will be offered in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. In the “base” it will receive one engine. It is located on the rear axle and produces 308 hp. With. This already suggests that the model is positioned as a premium sports car.
The all-wheel drive Stelato S9 will receive an additional power unit on the front axle. Its power is 215 “horses”. Accordingly, the total output of a pair of electric motors will be 523 hp. With. This is comparable to the “top” modifications of premium cars from leading German manufacturers.
To highlight the model's exclusivity, Stelato will only offer the S9 in a few colors. Among them are white, red, black and unexpectedly gold instead of silver.

It can be seen that the side mirrors of the new electric car are of some atypical shape. They are too narrow to see anything. But the fact is that they are digital and transmit the image to the cabin on the head monitor.
The door handles of the Stelato S9 are hidden in the body. This is done to improve aerodynamics. This is what the manufacturer claims, although it’s more likely just a fashionable design feature.
Stelato electric cars will be sold at Huawei dealerships. The exact cost is still unknown. But the price is predicted to range from 41 to 69 thousand dollars (from 3,7 to 6,35 million rubles).
