Accident with a drone – who is to blame?

Accident with a drone – who is to blame?
The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation has finalized a bill on the rules for operating highly automated vehicles, from which it becomes clear who exactly will be responsible for a possible traffic accident involving unmanned vehicles.

The very first in the chain of responsible persons is the owner of the VATS. He will be able to avoid this fate only if there is evidence that the accident occurred due to “force majeure or the intent of the victim.”

In addition, the dispatcher or even the manufacturer of autonomous vehicles may be found guilty. To do this, you must provide evidence of a design flaw or inadequate remote control. If “sides” are identified due to ineffective maintenance, the dealer may also be blamed for the incident.

Here are the opinions of our car owners on this matter:

I am generally against such cars driving on the same road with me. Why don't they build a separate road for themselves and let them ride?

- Pavel Valerievich from Chekhov is indignant

It’s very strange, it turns out that it’s unclear who is responsible, and the victim will go around in circles to get something compensated. And then, lo and behold, lawyers will say that there were interruptions in communication at the scene of the accident - contact the operator!

- says Egor from Voronezh

But will there be compulsory motor insurance for such unmanned vehicles? If it happens, then I'm calm. Maybe. But I don’t trust such technologies, it’s all from the evil one. And why do they even allow the possibility of an accident? These are mechanisms, everything is calculated there. And if not everything, then they have nothing to do on the roads.

- asks Matvey Vladimirovich from Aksay

It would be better if road repairs were carried out by robots - look, and everything would get better. And so you go - there is a hole in the hole, they don’t respond to complaints, they make unsubscribes and feed you with promises. And then, in the midst of all the joys, they will release something unknown onto our roads. And I wonder, will the dispatcher have to have credentials of certain categories or will it be possible to hire students as operators?

— Sergey Olegovich from Cheboksary speaks out

It’s a pity that no one asks road users whether they want to share the roadway with soulless cars? Progress, so to speak. There is nowhere to go, we will shy away from such cars. I would recommend painting them in bright colors. Yellow, for example, with green polka dots. To make it immediately clear.

- sums up Alexey Mikhailovich from Kazan.
