Technical features of the Kia K4 sedan revealed

Kia has unveiled the main technical specifications of the K4 model. While we are talking about the sedan, the hatchback will appear later. However, it is unlikely that its performance characteristics will differ.


Kia K4 is considered the successor to the well-known Cerato model in Russia. Despite belonging to the compact class, the new car turned out to be quite luxurious. Moreover, the manufacturer has already stated that the Kia K4 is the most spacious sedan among its classmates.

The new product was presented at the auto show currently taking place in New York. All visitors to this event can be convinced that the Kia K4 really gives passengers unprecedented comfort in the back seat for its class.


The length of the sedan is 4,7 meters. Externally, the car is made in accordance with the corporate style of the brand. This can be seen in the design of the front and side parts. For example, the design of the optics subtly hints that the K4 is a worthy successor of traditions.

But the back of the sedan is original. But not everyone likes it. Judging by the comments of visitors to the car show, some are waiting for a hatchback.

By the way, the sedan doesn’t look classic either. The roofline is so low toward the rear that it appears to be a liftback. But the trunk of the Kia K4 opens without glass, which means the car is a full-fledged sedan.

Despite the fact that the manufacturer paid primary attention to the comfort of rear-row passengers, there was also room for a trunk. The volume of the latter is 413 liters.

In the cabin, the front console houses two large liquid crystal displays. The steering wheel can be either two or three spokes - it depends on the configuration.

The car is equipped with a number of modern security systems. The “top” version has 29 of them. Even the basic version boasts eight AirBags.

As for the engines, they are only gasoline for now. Classic lovers will be pleased with the basic power unit. This is a two-liter naturally aspirated engine with a power of 149 hp. This version is equipped with a CVT gearbox.


Under the hood of the “top” Kia K4 is a 1,6-liter turbocharged engine. Its power is 193 “horses”. The transmission in this case is an eight-speed automatic.

The car will also be offered in the GT-Line sports version. Externally, it will be distinguished by an aggressive body kit, a multi-link rear suspension instead of a semi-independent one, and a modified interior design with its own accents. But the engines of the GT-Line can be either naturally aspirated or turbocharged.

Sales of the Kia K4 will start in the summer of 2024. Prices are being kept secret for now.
