Trek unveils new Marlin+ e-bike
Trek has presented its latest development to the public. It was the Trek Marlin+ all-electric hardtail mountain bike. The list of its features includes the price - this is one of the most inexpensive models with a Bosch engine.

The electric bike has received quite a lot of details that have long been loved by fans of Trek and the non-electric Marlin bicycle, in particular. This includes its 120 mm suspension, 27,5-inch wheels (for Small and Extra Small frames), or 29-inch wheels in the case of medium and large dimensions.

It is the electric bicycle drive system from Bosch that is its main feature. It includes not only the Active Line Plus motor, but also a CompactTube 400 battery from the same manufacturer. A Bosch Purion display is provided to monitor indicators.

The said electric motor produces an impressive 50 Nm of torque, which is enough to make trips on hilly terrain more comfortable. It still leaves a chance for the cyclist to show off his muscular strength, since his power is not enough for very extreme climbs.

The 400 Wh battery has a completely enclosed design. This makes it lighter, more weatherproof and helps the bike run efficiently, but it cannot be detached for charging separately from the bike. The frame itself has a charging connector located just above the electric motor.

For those who want an even larger power reserve, another battery with a capacity of 250 Wh is offered as a paid option. It will increase the power reserve by another 60% during the day. The addition is very reasonable, considering that you won’t be able to charge the battery at home.

The new product is distinguished, among other things, by the presence of a connector for recharging the battery. Photo: youtube.com

The most interesting thing about the new bike is its price. Trek sells Marlin+ for $2700 (about 250 thousand rubles at current exchange rates). This fact instantly placed the bike on the list of the brand's most affordable electric bikes, as well as among the most budget-friendly Bosch-powered mountain bikes on the market.

Thanks to this price, the Marlin+ may be the only way for many to get a reliable and efficient eMTB with a Bosch engine without spending 4-5 thousand US dollars.
