This year KAMAZ K-5 series will become completely Russian

Localization of production of KAMAZ generation K-5 continues at the plant in Naberezhnye Chelny. The Russian Industrial Development Fund is participating in financing the project to replace foreign components. Today, following the next step in the import substitution program, factory workers are establishing their own production of cabin elements. In total, the K-5 series tractor includes 2300 components, of which 71% are produced in Russia.


To launch a new conveyor line, the press-and-frame plant is being modernized. In particular, equipment for longitudinal cutting of blanks – steel rolls – will be purchased in the near future. Tests at the manufacturer's base have already been completed.


The existing machines are also being improved. First of all, it is planned to improve the equipment for relief welding. Robotic posts will provide an opportunity to significantly improve product quality.

The plant is also improving the line where cross-cutting of sheet parts is carried out. It is expected that work on setting up the conveyor will be completed no later than the end of this year. Then it will be possible to rightfully say: KAMAZ vehicles of the K-5 generation with a cab once developed by Mercedes-Benz are completely Russian.
