Russian scientists are working on the creation of a passenger jet aircraft of a new generation

Against the backdrop of a global search for solutions to improve the aerodynamic characteristics of passenger liners, employees of the United Aircraft Corporation PJSC share their best practices in this matter. Representatives of the company spoke about the preparation of the concept of a new small jet business jet.


According to the widespread opinion of a number of experts, in order to improve the flight characteristics of an aircraft, it is necessary to resort to the so-called laminarization. That is, to change its usual design so that the flow around becomes non-turbulent.


Therefore, TsAGI engineers decided to use completely new forms, thanks to which their prototype received a non-standard “drop-shaped” fuselage. At the same time, its diameter exceeds the average human height, which allows you to safely move around the cabin of the aircraft in full growth.

Among the innovations involved in the creation of a new passenger aircraft is the use of a high-performance "small-swept laminar wing". In the course of numerous tests, this arrangement has confirmed its viability. The cruising speed of such a concept is 1000 km/h (Mach 0,82). This is a good result among the majority of modern long-haul liners.
