AvtoVAZ continues import substitution - improved manual transmission

AvtoVAZ announced its next victory - mechanical gearboxes will now shift no worse than their German counterparts. The company managed to order a batch of high-quality components for manual transmissions. Most likely, deliveries will be on a regular basis.


AvtoVAZ continues to improve the work of its conveyors in the difficult conditions of economic sanctions against the Russian Federation. The only way out of the situation is the fastest possible search for suppliers from friendly countries and the parallel establishment of production at our own facilities.

Buyers of new 2022-2023 LADA Granta cars have repeatedly complained about the drop in the quality of manual transmissions on cars from the latest batches. According to them, the boxes do not switch clearly enough to second and third gears. This happens due to the installation of low-quality rings for assembling the unit.


Insiders shared information that the new manual transmissions again switch clearly, as before, when using German components. Whose production rings for assembling gearboxes arrived on the conveyors - is not reported. There is a small chance that they are domestic.

So far, a manual transmission of our own production is the only unit available for LADA cars. However, AvtoVAZ reports that in 2024 Vesta NG will receive an automatic transmission.
