XPeng announces launch date for G9 electric crossover

The Chinese company XPeng has finally announced the start date for sales of the G9 electric crossover. The model, which has been pre-ordered since August, will appear at official dealers on September 21. From the same date, the first customers will begin receiving their long-awaited electric cars.


The manufacturer promises to arrange a live presentation, and everyone will be able to get there, if, of course, they fit. XPeng will talk about the technical features of its new electric car and announce the cost. If someone is not satisfied with the price, they can cancel the pre-order.

XPeng G9 is a long-awaited project for Chinese car enthusiasts. The manufacturer first showed the crossover in November 2021. Then the model aroused genuine interest, but XPeng did not disclose technical features. It was possible to learn only that the electric car will be based on the SiC platform.


In August 2022, XPeng declassified most of the technical features of the G9. The length of the model is almost 4,9 meters, with a width of 1,9 and a wheelbase of 2,99 m.

Externally, XPeng G9 looks quite sporty. This effect was achieved through the installation of frameless glass and retractable door handles. The car will receive an adjustable air suspension already in the basic version.

XPeng G9 is offered in two main versions - with mono and all-wheel drive. The rear-wheel drive car received an electric motor with a capacity of 313 hp. With. The same power unit is retained in the "top" modification, only a motor on the front axle is added to it in pairs. It develops 238 hp. With.



Traction batteries for two modifications of the XPeng G9 are the same - at 98 kWh. This allows us to talk about a power reserve of 650 to 702 km. Of course, a two-wheel drive car will travel more due to less power.


Top speed is electronically limited to 200 km/h. This is done on purpose so as not to give peak loads to the engines, which will increase their resource. In addition, driving crossovers at such extreme speeds is simply dangerous - no one has canceled the windage of a high body.

The interior of the car corresponds to a full-fledged premium class. It is a five-seater, and there are heating and massage not only on the front row, but also on the two side seats at the back.

Although prices for the XPeng G9 have not yet been announced, Chinese auto experts say that for an electric car they will ask for something in the region of 3-3,5 million rubles.
