GAC has a new product - the second generation Aion V crossover is presented

The Beijing Motor Show continues to surprise with new products. This time, GAC distinguished itself by presenting the second generation electric crossover Aion V. The model is stated as aimed at foreign markets, but it will debut in China.


The start of sales is scheduled for July. Most likely, the second generation GAC Aion V will appear in Russia, and officially. After all, the name of the model has already been patented in our country by the manufacturer. Obviously he didn’t do this for show.

By the way, the Aion brand has not yet been officially presented in Russia. But GAC has already managed to register the names of several models under this brand in our country.


Judging by its appearance and some declassified technical data, the GAC Aion V has indeed changed generations. This is not another restyling that Chinese manufacturers love so much.

The crossover received a completely new design. It affected the front and rear parts globally. The side view of the car has also changed. Thanks to different bumpers, the length of the second generation GAC Aion V increased from 4,58 to 4,6 meters.

The manufacturer has not yet deigned to demonstrate the interior of the crossover. But it is known that the distance between the axles has become slightly shorter than that of the first generation model - 2,77 versus 2,83 meters, respectively.

But the manufacturer says that the new Aion V has become more spacious for rear passengers. Moreover, it is stated that they have more “living space” than in the BMW X5. This was achieved by rethinking the layout of the electric drive.

You just won't be able to see it with your own eyes. You'll have to take the manufacturer's word for it and wait until he deigns to show the interior. At least in photographs.

The new GAC Aion V is stated to be suitable for multi-day trips. There is no need to look for accommodation for the night or pitch tents. All crossover seats, including the front ones, fold down to form a flat floor.


The package will also include a smart refrigerator, also known as a warming drawer. The temperature inside this box can vary from -15°C to +50°C.

It is also still unknown what engines the second generation GAC Aion V will be equipped with. There is no information about the power of the power units. Let us remind you that after the restyling of the first generation, which took place in 2021, the electric car was equipped with engines of 224 and 272 hp. With. Most likely, the new crossover will receive engines of approximately the same power.

The manufacturer provided only power reserve data. They are impressive - the electric crossover can travel up to 750 km on a single charge.
