Range Rover cars are the pride and headache of the owners at the same time. On the one hand, it is a prestigious British brand. On the other hand, periodic breakdowns, expensive spare parts and consumables.


In fairness, it should be noted that not everyone in a row breaks down these cars. There are owners who ride for 5-10 years, changing only consumables. Maybe they move carefully and buy only original parts, or they just got lucky with the car.

As a rule, Range Rover is associated with full-size SUVs with powerful and voracious engines. But the brand has long had a line of small crossovers. First it was the Freelander, now the Evoque. About this model, which is quite pulling on the premium in its class, we will tell today.

A bit of history


In 2008, Land Rover introduced an interesting LRX concept car. This car became the prototype of the Evoque. The public liked it, so the manufacturer announced the imminent appearance of a serial model. The project was planned to be implemented in 2009.

Range Rover Evoque appeared a few years later. The manufacturer simply did not have the funds to quickly launch the model into a series.

The car has become popular with the beautiful half of humanity. Although this does not mean that the model is female. It's just that many men bought them for their ladies - this is a prestigious Range Rover, but compact.

In 2015, the car was restyled. After it, the model received minor cosmetic changes, but the main thing is new motors.

In 2018, the second generation Range Rover Evoque appeared.

Major problems and breakdowns


Range Rover in the "people" have earned the reputation of unreliable. There is even such a joke that the owners of British models do not say hello if they meet, since they have seen each other in the morning at the service station.

In fact, Range Rover's problem isn't that they're unreliable. It's just that there are a lot of electronics, and repairs are expensive. When such a car falls into the hands of 2-3 owners, savings on maintenance begin. Problems accumulate, and as a result, the dashboard glows with errors, like a Christmas tree.

New power units have become more complex, although the old ones did not differ in simplicity. Accordingly, their repair is more expensive, plus few people know how to repair them.
