New unmanned truck Einride E-Trailer showed to the public

During the first Einride Mesh technology conference, the company's management presented a new autonomous vehicle. According to representatives of the Swedish brand, which has been creating electric models since 2016, the new concept will be competitive. In the coming years, it may occupy a solid segment of the market.

The first transport was introduced back in 2018, it was the T-Log timber carrier, which is now undergoing the final stage of testing in Sweden. E-Trailer is the latest generation of autonomous vehicles equipped with updated software.

The difference of this option is that the transportation process from the beginning to the end is controlled by the operator located in the control center. Such a system will create new jobs.



Data exchange takes place in real time, the specialist can quickly make decisions, correct the route and prevent emergency situations. The intelligent monitoring system analyzes the status of all nodes and helps to identify faults when they are inexpensive to fix. This will reduce downtime and detect serious problems in time.

What is known about the truck

The E-Trailer has a built-in battery, which reduces the weight of the structure and increases the range. On a single charge, vehicles can travel up to 650 km. The advantage is that the novelty is compatible with all electric semi-trailers from Einride.



The battery capacity is 320 kWh, it works effectively in different temperature ranges and has the function of accelerated charging, when up to 80% is gained in an hour. For control, a new Einride Saga interface is used, which is planned to be used on all projects of the manufacturer.

The latest developments are underway. It is possible that the appearance will change, and some parameters will improve. If the process goes according to schedule, field trials will start in 2023 in Sweden. Now a package of documents is being prepared for the certification of new items and obtaining the necessary permits, which will be valid throughout the European Union.



Interest in the electric truck was also expressed by the authorities of the US states of Texas and California. They are ready to provide their test sites to speed up the verification process and put the new product into operation in the coming years.
