However, local buyers should not be upset. After all, they received an improved version of the Honda Accord. The model has already been tested on the US market. Accordingly, it was modified, getting rid of “childhood sores”. And in general, Honda traditionally assembles better cars for the domestic market.

The Honda Accord XI premiered for Japan back in September last year. And sales started only today.


The sedan belongs to a full-fledged business class. The length of the body is 4,97 meters with a wheelbase of 2,83 m. They did not develop a new platform for the car - they made do with a modified old one, taken from the Honda Accord X.

The main differences of the next generation body are the increase in rigidity. This was achieved through the installation of additional spacers and amplifiers. New welding points have also been added. All this together affected not only rigidity, but also handling. The car began to take turns at speed noticeably more clearly.

The Honda Accord XI suspensions are simple. The Japanese manufacturer does not want to complicate the life of potential customers with pneumatics and hydraulics. Therefore, there is a MacPherson strut at the front, and a classic multi-link at the rear.

In the Land of the Rising Sun, the Honda Accord XI is offered with an uncontested power unit. This is an e:HEV hybrid.

It is possible that the motor will be the last before a complete transition to electric cars. If, of course, this happens in the coming years. After all, some experts have already begun to doubt that internal combustion engines will lose ground.

The power plant of the Honda Accord XI is based on a simple naturally aspirated 2,0-liter engine. Its power is 145 hp. With. Paired with the internal combustion engine is an electric motor with 39 horsepower.


The power plant can operate in three modes - economical EV Drive, standard Engine Drive, suitable for the highway, and dynamic urban Hybrid Drive. The latter provides fast acceleration from a standstill – this will appeal to fans of “traffic light racing”.

Prices in Japan for the Honda Accord XI are quite low. For a car in the basic configuration you will have to pay from 5,45 million yen (3,28 million rubles).
