Honda Accord 10 is a representative of one of the most popular lines of Japanese cars. When the eighth and ninth generations came out, fans of the brand were very disappointed, as the fine-tuning of the chassis, available to its predecessors from the sixth and seventh generations, disappeared. In the "ten", the temporarily lost opportunities returned, and what's more, they were supplemented with comfort in the cabin and a number of options. Let's take a closer look at the latest generation and find out why it is not available in Russia.

Appearance

Compared to previous generations, the tenth version of the Honda Accord looks quite aggressive and sporty. This is largely due to narrower LED headlights in front and a large radiator blower section. The wheel arches have become more muscular, and the hood has acquired faceted features. The body itself has become more "rapid", especially when viewed from the side. Massive bumpers and a low side kit bring the sedan even closer to the class of sports cars "for the people". The final touch is light-alloy wheels with a diameter of 17 to 19 inches.

In the tenth Accord, the following scheme was implemented: a two-liter gasoline “four” in a trio with two electric motors under the floor of the car. In this arrangement, only one transmission option is available - a 10-speed "automatic".

Whether to wait in the Russian Federation?

Back in 2015, Honda made a serious decision to stop selling the European version of the Accord in Europe, including Russia. There is only one reason: low demand for the model. In our country, some crossovers from a Japanese company, including Pilot and Honda SRV, enjoy great respect and popularity. Sedans for unknown reasons are not so in demand. Perhaps this is influenced by not the most favorable road conditions in the country, in which, as everyone knows, there are two troubles. In this regard, buying a crossover seems to be a more profitable purchase.

More than 10 years ago, Honda Accord cars could not compete in Europe with models such as the Ford Mondeo and Volkswagen Passat. But in the US, the Japanese product is in full order with popularity - here sedans are very quoted, perhaps a little worse than pickup trucks, to which Americans have a pathological attachment. Please note that this is only the European version. You can buy an American one, but the tenth generation will not come to the Russian Federation. Fans of the model have only one way out: to use the gray import from the US car market.
