Public transport in the USSR worked properly, but there was usually not enough equipment. Of course, everyone who wanted to left left. But the level of comfort often left much to be desired. Sometimes the interior had to be taken by storm - accelerating and trying to make a way inside. And those who were already there often did not specifically want to go through. Why, if the bus or trolleybus is already crowded, it will go even slower. By the way, electrical engineering in the USSR was not very diverse. The trolleybuses were similar, although they were produced by several factories. But with buses it’s more interesting. They differed not only in size and technical characteristics, but also in design.
Take, for example, LiAZ-677, the famous Lunokhod. The slowest Soviet bus. Apparently because the cabin accommodated many standing passengers. The same LAZ was faster, despite the gasoline engine. Nothing strange - there are few places there. Most of the interior was occupied by armchairs. The LiAZ-677 clanged cheerfully and bottle-like with its cardan crosspieces and tilted dangerously when cornering. Despite the criticism, the bus remains in my memory as something bright. And the LiAZ-677 will help you remember the Soviet years on the channel “Ivan Zenkevich PRO cars.” Welcome to reckless youth!
