The backstory of this Izh Jupiter motorcycle is quite revealing. Released into the vast expanses of the USSR in 1963, in our era it quietly lived out its life in a landfill. Miraculously catching the eye of motorcycle lover and brilliant mechanic Yura, he found a second life. And what a great one - I went on a long motorcycle ride and even drove along the roads of sunny Bulgaria. On the way back, already at the end of the route, Bolivar’s heart could not stand it and began to fail. Knocked...
What, back to the landfill? No matter how it is, the motorcycle blogger takes the Izh into his garage again, he really liked the motorcycle. Before the analysis, Yura decided to evaluate how the long-distance motorcycle ride affected the appearance of the completely restored retro bike. It turned out that Izh’s appearance had become rather shabby, and the old Soviet chrome did its favorite thing - it began to rust again.
Well, what about the engine? Not only was he “sweating” all the way due to a weak seal on the speed switch, but oil was also leaking somewhere from above. Disassembly will show. It is noteworthy that the master performed even such a task as carefully as possible - every removed part or assembly was subjected to troubleshooting and cleaning.
That is, it is already clear - Yura will assemble the engine and will continue to ride this motorcycle! For the subsequent disassembly of the engine and what was the reason for the telltale knock that disrupted the end of the journey, see the video provided to us from the author’s YouTube channel MOTO KOR.
