Teenagers adored mopeds in the USSR. It was a dream for many years before I was 16, especially in cities. In the villages, technology was mastered earlier, and many had it. They earned money and bought it themselves - from forest gifts and from collective farms in the summer. Now there are few mopeds left in Russia. Some scooters, mostly Chinese. It feels like we have asphalt everywhere. But small-capacity equipment is in demand in rural areas. Where the roads are disgusting. And scooters are often used in villages. Many have even gotten used to going to the forest to pick mushrooms and ride on the river. And it doesn’t matter that the ground clearance is low, the main thing is desire. And you can carry the scooter over fallen trees by hand. Or drag it - this depends on the physical parameters of the owner.
But if there were mopeds, especially used Japanese ones, we would buy them. Unfortunately, mostly Chinese equipment is on sale, and even then, there are more scooters with low ground clearance. Of the mopeds, only “clones” of the Honda Super Cub are found. The original is, of course, good, but there are few of them on sale, and they are expensive. But if you want a moped, there is a way out - to make it yourself. This is what the author of the channel “Ildar Sunagatullin” did. It should be noted that the man works with a grinder and a welding machine masterfully. But the main thing is that he has a garage and homemade equipment that is used in new projects.
