According to the latest information received from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the terms of the deal have already been negotiated. According to the official version, Renault cannot ensure the efficiency of its Russian divisions due to a lack of its own funds. But everyone understands perfectly well what the reason is - these are economic sanctions imposed by the countries of the European Union and the United States against the Russian Federation.
The transfer of AvtoVAZ shares to NAMI is not a purchase or nationalization. Russia needs car manufacturers, so we have to take such measures, since Renault cannot provide the domestic market. Together with the shares of AvtoVAZ, the French will also transfer the Avtoframos plant. It will be received by the government of Moscow.

At the highest level, it was agreed that the French brand would want to fully return and work using all the capacities of the enterprise - no one would put obstacles in its way. But if budgetary funds are invested in AvtoVAZ, which will be directed to the modernization of production, all this money will have to be reimbursed by Renault Group in full.
None of the transferred enterprises will be mothballed. Even the Avtoframos plant, which produced Renault cars of various models, will continue its work after modernization. They plan to start assembling LADA or some other models, for example, Chinese ones.

By the way, yesterday at the plant in Togliatti, a conveyor for assembling Renault Logan and Sandero cars was launched. As it was possible to coordinate this step with Renault Group, representatives of AvtoVAZ are silent. Apparently, the French are just trying to sit on two chairs at the same time - it is not profitable for them to leave Russia, but they have to support economic sanctions.
The transfer of AvtoVAZ shares to NAMI is a balanced decision. The engineers of this company have been known for their prototypes since Soviet times. It is quite possible that under such leadership, AvtoVAZ will soon please its fans with completely new cars.
The main thing is that these are not revived models of rear-wheel drive classics, although some drivers still miss them.
