Chinese luxury electric roadster MG Cyberster is now officially in Russia

MG has announced that the brand’s first electric roadster will be officially sold in Russia. We're talking about Cyberster. This car is not inferior in appearance and technical characteristics to supercars from famous world brands.


Let us remind you that this model is already offered in Russia unofficially, but only on order and with a nominal range of 8-50 km. They ask for all-wheel drive MG Cyberster (and do not offer others) from 6,33 million rubles. How much “official” roadsters will cost at dealers in our country is still unknown.

MG Cars is a native British brand founded in 1924. After 56 years, he went bankrupt and for a long time teetered on the brink of failure, periodically stopping production.


At first it was acquired by the BMW concern, but this did not bring fame to the brand. But the new owner, the Chinese company Nanjing Automobile Group, also known as SAIC, seems to be able to revive the glory of MG.

Cyberster is focused primarily on sales in EU countries. Although it is also offered in China. The roadster has a classic appearance in the spirit of Aston Martin. The body is rounded, without any rough or protruding corners.

The car is a two-seater, but it is a classic roadster, with a body length of more than 4,5 meters. And most importantly, it’s an electric car.

The interior can be accessed by lifting the Lambo doors. By the way, they open themselves with a button. Inside, the MG Cyberster is quite austere, but this does not negate its discreet luxury. The design of the dashboard is inspired by the cockpit of a military fighter aircraft. And there is genuine leather everywhere.

The seats have developed lateral support. This subtly hints that the roadster doesn't just look sporty - it actually is.

The MG Cyberster is offered in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. In the basic configuration, the electric car received only one engine. It is located on the rear axle. Power – 340 hp This is enough to already compete with a number of supercars from much more famous manufacturers.


But that's not all. The all-wheel drive version, which is the most popular, has an electric motor at the front. Its power is 205 “horses”. Accordingly, the power plant produces a total of 545 hp.

Such an electric car accelerates to the first “hundred” in just 3,2 seconds. This is enough to compete with the most outstanding “classmates”. And at the same time, the cost of the car turned out to be quite humane.

The range on one charge is also impressive – 520 kilometers. All that remains is to wait for the official debut of the model in Russia and the announcement of prices.
