Budget SUV SWM G03F will be brought to Russia

The SWM brand, which is officially represented in Russia, showed a new model in our country - the G03F crossover. This car claims to be a family car and a universal one, because it will be available in five or seven-seater versions.


The cars will be offered in hybrid and petrol versions. Everyone will be able to choose what interests them more – simplicity of design or fuel economy.

Sales of SWM G03F will start in Russia this summer. Dealers have not yet provided more detailed information. But they promise a price of up to 3 million rubles – and this is for the “top” hybrid version.


The model's appearance is specific. If you're being picky, it's more of an elevated minivan than a crossover. It is distinguished from the latter by its width of 1,8 meters, small wheels for this class and narrow tires.

However, it is not difficult to understand the manufacturer. He sought to give the market the most budget-friendly and at the same time universal car. In such cases, design and technical specifications usually take a back seat.

The length of SWM G03F is only 4,6 meters. It is clear that in the case of the three-row seven-seater version, the rear seats will only be suitable for children. And there will be almost no space left for the trunk.

Therefore, if potential Russian buyers have up to three children in a family and have a passion for outdoor trips, it is better to limit themselves to a version designed for five people. There is definitely enough space for luggage there.

By the way, in China SWM G03F is sold as Big Tiger. Why it was called that, given its rather modest dimensions, is another mystery from Chinese manufacturers. One can only assume that this is an attempt to increase sales by playing on the feelings of potential customers.

The crossover turned out to be the simplest even by Russian standards, where domestic manufacturers do not pamper their customers with modern engines. And for the Chinese, the SWM G03F is generally primitive. It seems that it is aimed at rural residents of the Middle Kingdom, where incomes are much lower than in cities.


Under the hood of the petrol version there is a naturally aspirated engine with a volume of 1,5 liters. Its power is 110 hp. With. It is clear that with such performance characteristics there can be no talk of any all-wheel drive. The SWM G03F has a front drive axle.

A five-speed manual transmission fits into the picture. As are drum brakes on all wheels.

The hybrid modification is more powerful - an electric motor with 143 hp is installed on the front axle. With. The running battery is charged by a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated gasoline engine with 105 horsepower. The latter has nothing to do with the drive.
