Let us remind you that Volkswagen announced its intention to release a “charged” version of the ID.Buzz van at the beginning of 2023. At the same time, it was confirmed that the electric car would definitely go into small-scale production.
First of all, the sporty Volkswagen ID.Buzz will be produced in a passenger version. Perhaps in the future there will also be special tourist versions, analogues of the Volkswagen California.

ID.Buzz GTX will be another car in the line of electric sports cars of the German brand. These “charged” modifications clearly demonstrate that high performance can be achieved without harming the environment. There are already positive examples - these are the ID.3 GTX and ID.7 GTX Tourer.
The manufacturer does not specifically talk about the technical characteristics of the Volkswagen ID.Buzz GTX. But it is known that it will definitely be all-wheel drive. Accordingly, it will have two electric motors. Their total power will be 335 hp. With.
Whether the motors will be the same is unknown. It is possible that the emphasis will shift to the rear axle. Accordingly, the power unit on it may become more powerful.
Judging by the ID.7 GTX and ID.3 GTX, the minibus will receive more than just performance engines. Most likely, it will have a stiffer suspension, powerful brakes, large wheels on low-profile tires and a sports body kit.
By the way, they have been working on the Volkswagen ID.Buzz GTX for a long time - reporters and onlookers periodically saw prototypes both on tracks and on roads. The cars were in white or camouflage.
It is not entirely clear whether new electric cars will appear in the United States. So far, “charged” models are not sold there. And there aren’t even regular ID.Buzz vans.

The manufacturer relies on EU countries. Electric cars are very popular there. Although demand is already beginning to decline. Judging by the design, ID.Buzz may be of interest to retro lovers. After all, in the appearance of an electric car, the T1 models from the 60s are clearly visible.
By the way, the name Buzz was given to the van for a reason. This word translates to “buzz” in English, which symbolizes the sounds of electric motors running. Plus, Volkswagen makes a reference to “bus” - this is what the first minibuses of the German brand were called.
How much the Volkswagen ID.Buzz GTX will cost is still unknown. Perhaps they will talk about this on March 21, during the presentation.
