The Rivian R2 debuted this week, two years ahead of schedule. When the car goes into mass production, it will cost $45 (000 million rubles) and have a range of up to 4 km.
At first glance, it seems that the Rivian R2 is almost a copy of the R1S. At least in appearance, these crossovers are very similar. With a wheelbase of 293 cm and an overall length of 471 cm, the R2 is almost 40 cm shorter than its R1S sibling. But it's still quite comfortable inside. The R2's wheelbase is 5 cm longer than the Tesla Model Y, but overall the R2 is shorter than the Tesla, albeit by only 4 cm.
At almost 170 cm in height, the R2S is 26 cm lower than the R1S. The R2 does away with the split tailgate design often found on larger SUVs. But this electric car has pop-up rear windows and, like the Toyota 4Runner, a roll-down rear window.

The Rivian R2 is a five-seat SUV with two rows of seats. Moreover, both of them can be completely folded. Unlike the Model Y, this crossover does not offer a third row of seats. The Rivian has a large trunk that can accommodate a bike rack system. The mechanism fits into the rear accessory port without the use of tools, according to the automaker.
The R2 is built on a Rivian chassis and features a 4695 battery pack and one, two or three electric motors. As it became known, the crossover will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3,0 seconds.
The R2 is unlikely to become an off-road conqueror. The car will not be able to go as far as its larger brother. Maximum ground clearance is 24,9 cm, which provides a climb angle of 25° and a departure angle of 27° when using 32-inch all-terrain tires.

Inside, the Rivian R2 features a digital instrument cluster, a large touchscreen, and eco-friendly materials including birch and recycled ocean plastic.
The R2 can be recharged at Tesla Supercharging stations thanks to the standard NACS port. According to the company, the R2S will also be capable of fast charging via CCS, likely using an adapter. Compared to the R1, which has the charging port on the driver's side front corner, the R2 has it on the right rear fender.
