BYD Yuan Plus 2024 was $2200 cheaper

The 2024 BYD Yuan Plus Honor Edition crossover officially went on sale in China and turned out to be 16000 yuan cheaper than expected. In currencies that are more understandable to us, the difference was 2200 US dollars or 200000 rubles at the current exchange rate.


Thus, the final cost of the new product in the basic configuration starts at 119800 yuan or 16650 US dollars, or 1,525 million in ruble equivalent.


Compared with the previous generation model, relevant for 2023, the new crossover has received several visual equipment. Among them is an exclusive, deep black body color with the characteristic name “Black Knight”.

In this color, the car is devoid of chrome elements: instead there are dark accents. The same style applies to the rims. If black seems too banal, you can still buy a crossover in any of the shades that were offered in the previous generation.

As for the “Black Knight”, in this version the interior is also replete with dark colors. In addition, they contrast organically with the light green edging and a number of decorative silver-plated details.


In the central part of the front panel we see a huge 15,6-inch touchscreen display. It is responsible for controlling all vehicle functions and supports the current version of the DiLink 4.0 intelligent system.

In terms of size, there are no changes in the new generation. The body has dimensions of 4455/1875/1615 mm and a wheelbase of 2720 mm. To make comparison a little easier, the crossover is quite a bit smaller in size than the Volkswagen Tiguan.

The front-wheel drive transmission of the car is represented by one electric motor. It produces 150 kW of power and 310 Nm of torque. The battery is responsible for autonomy. There are two versions - with a capacity of 49,92 kWh with a range of 430 km and 60,48 kWh with a range of 510 km.

In foreign markets, BYD Yuan Plus Honor Edition is popularly known as Atto 3 and is the brand's main offering outside of China. The crossover will be available in five trim levels, each of which has fallen in price by the aforementioned $2200.


The reduction in price of the model was done for a reason. This is part of BYD's global plan to conquer the market in China and other countries. Thanks to this step, the car is on par with other equally interesting competitors such as the Honda XR-V, Buick Envision Plus, and Volkswagen T-Cross.
