The Changan Hunter pickup truck is now offered in an EREV hybrid version

Changan has announced the start of sales of the Hunter pickup truck in the EREV hybrid version. This abbreviation stands for Electric Range Extended Vehicle. To put it simply, they have one or more electric motors and an internal combustion engine. The latter has nothing to do with wheel drive at all. Its task is to work in tandem with the generator, charging the running battery.


Prices for the new modification of the pickup truck are already known. The car is available in four trim levels and eight versions. The fact is that half of the cars are rear-wheel drive, the rest are 4x4. Hence there are eight modifications with four trim levels.

For the basic Changan Hunter EREV with rear-wheel drive they are asking 139 yuan (900 million rubles) in China. The most expensive 1,76x4 pickup in the Armor Edition will cost significantly more. For such a car you will have to pay 4 yuan (216 million rubles).


By the way, regardless of the configuration, pickups can also be ordered in an extended version. The “extra” 350 mm appeared due to the increase in the cargo platform. For this version you need to pay an additional 1 thousand yuan - that’s 12,6 thousand rubles.

The base Changan Hunter EREV is driven by electric motors with a power of 177 hp. With. If the client needs a 4x4 pickup truck, then there will be an additional 95-horsepower engine. The latter is located on the front axle.

Interestingly, the power reserve on “pure” electricity is stated to be the same regardless of the type of pickup drive. At the same time, the battery has no alternative – 31,2 kilowatt-hours.

They promise that with a fully charged battery, the Changan Hunter EREV will be able to travel up to 180 km. With a full tank of gasoline, the range increases to 1 thousand kilometers. And this parameter does not depend on the number of electric motors.

The gasoline engine under the hood of the Changan Hunter EREV is turbocharged. Its volume, unexpectedly, is 2.0 liters. For some reason they decided to abandon the beloved “one and a half” by the Chinese. Moreover, the engine is turbocharged and develops 190 hp. With.
