New details about the Chinese supercar Yangwang U9 - it surpasses even famous competitors

BYD has shared new information about its U9 supercar. It will be offered under the Yangwang brand. This brand was specially created for luxury electric cars.


Yangwang U9 will go on sale on February 25. Naturally, it will debut in its “native” Chinese market. The cost of the supercar is still unknown. They only said that the price would definitely be more than a million yuan (from 12,7 million rubles).

Let's note, for example, that a similar car from GAC's competitor, the Hyper SSR, costs more. There the price starts at 16,4 million rubles. Naturally, these are numbers for the Chinese market.


The management of the new Yangwang Auto brand has already officially announced that their U9 electric car will completely change the concept of the class. After all, everyone is used to the fact that expensive sports cars look stylish and move quickly. But only on good tracks. You shouldn't expect any kind of versatility from them.

And Yangwang U9 can ride on three wheels, jump, turn around on the spot, performing the so-called “tank” maneuver. Of course, this does not make the electric sports car an SUV, but it will make life much easier for future owners. At least they won't have to draw their own driving directions in cities, avoiding uneven roads.

The Yangwang U9 looks no worse than supercars from famous manufacturers, including Italian brands. The body of the Chinese electric car is entirely made of composite materials, which means that it will not rot. The interior is both sporty and luxurious. It is clear that the engineers were thinking not only about the speed characteristics of the car. Comfortable driver and passenger seats do not have rigid frames, like classic supercars.
