Porsche Taycan breaks record for greener sales

The electric Taycan is up 30% this year compared to last year's reporting period. As of October 1, 28640 new electric cars were sold worldwide, which exceeded sales of the Porsche 911.
Events in the world market are developing rapidly. The hegemony of Tesla (Model S) is under serious pressure from new products from Lucid, Audi, Mercedes-Benz. Against this backdrop, electric sedans and station wagons from Porsche showed solid sales growth throughout the year. Analytics of statistics for three quarters allows the manufacturer to remain confident that interest in models will not decrease at the beginning of 2022.


Thus, the Porsche Taycan has been on the market for only two years, but managed to catch up with the iconic “sporty” 911, and such models as the 718 (Boxster and Cayman) and Panamera easily outperformed in terms of the number of sales. Of course, its figures are far from the Cayenne (62451 cars) and Macan (61 cars). At the same time, the sales leaders showed a minimal increase in consumer interest (about 944-1%), which is largely dictated by the growing demand for electric cars.



Independent analysts at JD Power APEAL have published data in their latest report showing that Porsche's premium models remain the most popular in North America. According to the most cautious forecasts, in a couple of years the share of electric cars of the brand will come close to 50% of the total output.

Premium car with zero emissions

The Porsche Taycan range includes 8 models. The budget version in the Russian market costs from 7 million rubles. Prices for Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo start from 13,15 million rubles. The most affordable car in the zero emission series can develop at its peak (Launch Control mode) 476 hp. with., accelerating to hundreds in 5,4 seconds.
