The model retained almost all the features of the Kia Concept EV9 concept car. Moreover, in the cabin, the manufacturer implemented a new idea that turns the electric car into a model for long trips. This applies to the six-seater version. Separate seats of the second row are made swivel.
The pre-production Kia EV9 looks just as futuristic as the concept car - sharp edges and a bit of a cosmic look. The side pillars were specially darkened so that they blended with the tinted windows. Thus, the designers managed to achieve the visual effect of a soaring roof.

The false radiator grille of the electric car is almost deaf, and the optics remain the same complex shape as on the concept. At the same time, the “tiger” design common to Kia models is immediately guessed in the appearance of the EV9.
In the cabin, multimedia screens are combined into a single rectangular block. The design is square - probably in order to emphasize the spaciousness in the cabin. Most of the functions in the car will be controlled through the multimedia system, but there are also traditional buttons. Conservative clients will appreciate such a nod to their side.
It will be possible to choose an electric car in six or seven-seater versions. The first option is more luxurious - with separate "captain" chairs in the middle row. The second will appeal to those who have a large family. The back rows in any version can be folded into the floor, turning it into a flat area. After that, a single luggage compartment is formed.
Technical characteristics of the Kia EV9 have not yet been officially disclosed. But earlier, the manufacturer conducted a sociological survey in the United States to understand which versions customers prefer.

As a result, it was tentatively decided that in the basic configuration, the electric car will receive rear-wheel drive and an engine that develops 200 hp. With. The power reserve will be 350 km. A more expensive modification will receive an increased battery. Such a crossover can travel up to 470 km on a single charge.
"Top" versions will receive 400 hp engines. With. Such Kia EV9s are likely to become all-wheel drive, but the manufacturer did not say anything about this. They will have a power reserve of 380 to 420 km, and they will be able to accelerate to 100 km/h in 6 seconds.
In the near future, the manufacturer plans to reveal all the technical features of the Kia EV9. Serial production starts closer to autumn, and sales will begin no earlier than the fourth quarter.
