SsangYong Torres - only petrol version so far
The South Korean company SsangYong introduced its new SUV, unexpectedly named after the Chilean national park located in Torres del Paine. The Koreans believe that the Torres model will take an intermediate place in its line between Corrando and Rexton.

At the first inspection of the car, the brutal appearance of the SUV catches the eye. It is well emphasized by overall bumpers, a hood with a relief and a large radiator grille. Nearby is a hefty air intake, around the car there is a body kit made of black unpainted plastic, and at the back there is an original bulge for a “spare tire” in body color. The crossover has LED optics at the front and the same lights at the back. The tailgate opens up, but for some reason the handles are located on the sides. The manufacturer offers customers seven color options, as well as twelve two-tone versions of the car.

The salon can be decorated in only three ways. This is a black version of the interior, brown and khaki. The central panel is distinguished by “layering”, above which a multimedia touchscreen with a 12,3 ”diagonal display found its place on top. Instead of a push-button climate control module, an 8 ”touch screen monitor was installed, which is “responsible” for other off-road capabilities. On top of the block are the main deflectors. Dashboard - virtual, with three sections. Of the driver's assistants, it is known about the lane keeping system, warning of dangerous proximity, and parking sensors. The "base" already provides heated seats. The car is designed for five riders, the trunk volume in the normal state is 703 liters, and with the rear seats folded down, it expands to 1662 liters.

As for the technical part, the role of the power unit is played by a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine whose volume is 1,5 liters and the power is 170 “horses”. The engine is paired with a six-speed transmission from Aisin.

In 2023, the South Korean manufacturer plans to introduce an electric version of the crossover to the general public, but so far there are no technical data on it.

Dealers accept orders for SsangYong Torres from today. The cost of a crossover in the minimum configuration for the domestic market is 1,19 million rubles. in terms of Russian money. The most expensive SUV option will cost 1,35 million rubles. Sales of the "real" car will begin in July this year.
