Simplified Russian cars are not allowed to enter the EU countries

For Russian-made cars made according to a simplified scheme, entry into the EU countries will be closed. It is allowed to move on such machines only across the expanses of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus. Most likely, in the future an agreement will be concluded with other member countries of the EAEU, according to the official representative office of Rosstandart.


As explained in the department, the use of vehicles that have received an opinion on the new rules is allowed in the country that manufactured this equipment, or upon reaching bilateral agreements. Today, such an agreement exists between the Republic of Belarus and Russia. When registering cars of this category in the Russian Federation and partner countries, a car passport (electronic equivalent - EPTS) will receive a corresponding note that the car was made in a special order.



More recently, the Supreme body of the EAEU - the Council has adjusted the requirements for some parameters of machines. In accordance with the approved document (its validity period is determined until 02.2023), the states that are members of the Union have the right to establish their technical requirements for cars manufactured in the Russian Federation. This refers to models of machines that meet lower environmental and safety standards. Changes were made to the technical regulations that came into force on April 25 this year.



The first car to be produced in a "simplified form" is the most popular Lada model in the Russian Federation - Granta (without ABS, air conditioning, airbags, etc.). It will start rolling off the assembly line on July 8th. Estimated price range - 640-840 thousand rubles. Following the "Grant", Niva Legend, Travel will undergo "simplification". The line will reach Vesta tentatively in September of this year: the car will be equipped with the Russian VAZ-11182 engine with eight valves in the basic version. Cars produced with a minimum of imported components will receive a special type of equipment - Special Edition (SE). Such a decision will enable the Togliatti plant to reach the pre-crisis level of production, equal to about 30 thousand units of equipment per month.



Obviously: Russia will seek to sign an agreement on allowing the movement of cars produced “in a special order” with the rest of the EAEU member countries - Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.
