Lada Granta in simplified versions is promised to be released from June 6

AvtoVAZ has announced a preliminary date for the start of serial production of simplified modifications of LADA Granta. This will happen on June 6, and we are talking about mass production without downtime.


The Russian automotive market is in a fever due to economic sanctions. Ordinary drivers who decide to purchase a new budget-class car are especially affected. Not only have car prices skyrocketed in 2022, but you still can’t buy them.

Dealers took advantage of the situation and offer the most "fancy" versions. The cost of such models due to additional options can be higher by 30-50% and this is far from the limit.



The task of AvtoVAZ now is to satisfy the demand as quickly as possible. For this, the cheapest model, LADA Granta, was chosen. It would be easier to set up a large-scale production of Lada Niva Legends, but this is a hopelessly outdated car that is relevant only to a narrow audience.

On July 6, it is planned not only to launch full-scale production, but to issue the first batch of cars. AvtoVAZ will send them to dealers so that they can introduce them to the maximum number of potential customers.

The manufacturer says that it is planned to produce 30 Lada Granta cars per month. This hints that the car will be assembled without the use of imported components. Or has AvtoVAZ finally found a supplier?

According to rumors, which the manufacturer does not confirm or deny, LADA Granta will be produced in two versions. The first is generally "empty" - without power steering and power windows. In the second, more expensive modification, these "benefits of civilization" are present.

A new engine from AvtoVAZ with a working volume of 1,6 liters and a power of 90 liters will be installed under the hood of the car. With. The motor complies with the ecological class Euro-2.



Despite the grumbling of skeptics, the motor has become much better than its predecessor. It runs quieter, lower and mid-range traction is increased, and fuel consumption is reduced.

It was easy to “remove” more than 100 liters from the motor. With. But the manufacturer deliberately did not do this in order to reduce tax payments, because power units up to 100 hp. With. are not subject to excise duty. For AvtoVAZ, this is an opportunity to reduce the price of a car, and for buyers - to save on the annual transport tax.

The cost of the simplified LADA Granta has not yet been announced, but it is promised at the level of "about 600 rubles or a little more."
