But the Japanese were outraged, as a result of which they came to a compromise. Many models will move to a single platform with Renault, but will be sold under their own brand.


This is how the second generation Mitsubishi ASX crossover was “born”. And now its time has come for restyling. After all, Renault Captur was subjected to this procedure last year.

The pre-restyling Japanese crossover differed from the French single-platform vehicle only in nameplates and a different radiator grille. After the update, the car finally received its own face.

Now, in addition to the radiator grille, the crossover has its own front bumper. Although the head optics are similar, the lower daytime running lights of the Mitsubishi ASX are separate and not solid. Otherwise, the appearance is the same as the updated Renault Captur. Except, of course, for nameplates.

The interior is exactly the same as that of the single-platform “French”. A new multimedia system screen has appeared. Now its size is not 9,3 inches, but 10,4. A number of physical buttons were removed, leaving only the most frequently used ones.

Even in the basic configuration, the Mitsubishi ASX will receive all-round visibility systems, lane keeping, and cruise control with adaptive control. They didn’t forget about driver assistance when parking.

Technical specifications are similar to the updated Renault Captur. In the basic configuration, the Mitsubishi ASX will receive a liter turbo engine with a power of 91 hp. With. Paired with the engine is a manual gearbox.
