The Volvo EX30 crossover is preparing for presentation in China

At the beginning of April, the official announcement of the Volvo EX30 electric crossover took place, and in a couple of days, on the 25th, it will appear before the public for the first time at the Beijing Motor Show. Let us remind you that this is the smallest SUV from the European brand, but it is interesting not only for this.


The Volvo EX30's appearance reminds us of the traditions of Scandinavian style in design. The elegant and moderately minimalist appearance is complemented by a closed grille, headlights in the shape of the letter “T” and a familiar logo surrounding the front of the crossover.


Unlike modern competitors, the EX30 does not boast hidden door handles. But it has low-profile tires, large rims and side skirts equipped with decorative stripes to protect body elements from scratches.

At the rear we see classic split taillights. The crossover dimensions are 4233/1838/1555 mm. The distance between the wheel axles is 2650 mm. This is slightly less than the XC40.

The philosophy of minimalism smoothly flows from the exterior into the interior. There is a 12,3-inch touchscreen with portrait orientation. Mechanical buttons on the steering wheel have given way to touch controls. In general, there are very few physical keys in the cabin.


One of the notable elements of the interior is the 1,2-meter long Harman Kardon soundbar directly above the center panel. It forms a panoramic sound picture with good immersion.

The interior of the EX30 is designed in such a way that the driver and passengers have enough space to stow their items or gadgets. The center console is equipped with a retractable and retractable cup holder. There is also a holder for a smartphone.


Previously mentioned were two versions of the power plant with a power of 115 and 200 kW, respectively. There is also a choice among batteries with a capacity of 49 or 66 kWh. At the same time, there are three power reserve options – 410, 540 and 590 km.

In addition, the Volvo EX30 will be offered in an all-wheel drive version with a 315 kW powertrain. This crossover accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3,6 seconds and has a power reserve of 590 km. According to the manufacturer, charging from 10 to 80% using fast technology will take 26 minutes.
