Soviet cars, as a rule, do not have any collectible value. Unless very old or small-scale models. And even those are interesting to aesthetes rather because of their rarity. Only two brands produced truly valuable passenger cars in the USSR - GAZ and ZIL. If in the latter case we are talking about government limousines, then in the former we are talking about “Seagulls”. Plus the ZiM and ZiS models are also appreciated. But this is understandable - they were never consumer goods and were produced in small quantities.
But simple “Muscovites”, “Zhigulis”, “Ladas” and “Zaporozhets” are more interesting to those who have some memories of childhood and youth associated with them. When you see such a car in traffic, your heart rejoices. If you come closer, everything seems to be done clumsily, often the gaps “walk”, the body looks like it was cut out with an ax. And the interior decoration is depressing due to its budget. But it smells like a “car” there, just like in childhood. And as soon as you get behind the wheel of such a car, your memory helpfully slips in pictures from thirty, or even fifty years ago. At such moments, it becomes clear why some people restore or even collect Soviet cars. There seems to be nothing valuable in them, and the technical characteristics do not shine. It’s easier to find some foreign car from those years and tinker with it. But it is unlikely that it will return you to childhood even for a couple of seconds. And cars from the USSR are capable of this. The “Autoculture” channel will help you remember your youth. The hero of the video collected 35 “time capsules” from the Soviet period.
