Motorcycles of the Izh brand are still produced. Yes, they are made in Russia, in the very city of Izhevsk. But the bikes are not the same anymore, despite the name. They are produced by the company IzhTehMash. As is customary here, motorcycles are of Chinese origin, but not 100%. They tried to adapt them to Russian conditions. Therefore, IzhTekhMash chose the field of off-road equipment. And they do not assemble enduro or even motocross motorcycles, but full-fledged two-wheeled all-terrain vehicles. They look unsightly, but are cheap to maintain and repair. And they have one serious disadvantage - the lack of road access. Maybe this is a plus - you don’t need rights.
But a year ago IzhTekhMash introduced a new model. This is a Scout-6 motorcycle, equipped with everything necessary for movement on public roads. It’s just that it’s very different from the other bikes in the series of the same name. Firstly, almost everything here is Chinese. Secondly, individuality disappeared. The result is a pale imitation of the Suzuki VanVan 200. I’m glad that at least some of the parts are domestically produced.
