Soviet collective and state farms, especially in the 1980s, had a huge amount of equipment. Of course, not all of it was new; on the contrary, there were plenty of old models. All this “wealth” accumulated not even over years, but over decades. But the variety was pleasing – trucks, tractors, loaders. But the most complex and interesting were the combines. One of the best is Yenisei-1200. It appeared in 1985 and was produced at a plant in Krasnoyarsk. The header of this model has a reach of five to seven meters. Productivity – up to 9 tons per hour.
But the Yenisei-1200 combine was not suitable for harvesting rice. This model did not have enough cross-country ability to move through fields flooded with water. The wheels simply got stuck in the mud and the combine skidded helplessly in place. The Yenisei-1200 RM was launched specifically for harvesting rice. The most important difference of this modification, visible to the naked eye, is the caterpillar track. Thanks to the tracks, the pressure on the ground is more uniform. And the cross-country ability of such equipment is higher. Yenisei-1200 RM combines are still working in Russian fields. And they will talk about this on the LandTech channel. By the way, initially the Altai D-442 engine was installed on the combine, and then it was replaced with a YaMZ-236. Engine power – 150 and 185 hp. respectively.
