The reason for this is the decline in sales. If in 2018 Jeep sold about 973000 vehicles, in 2023 this figure decreased to 643000 units. Throughout these five years, the brand has experienced a constant decrease in sales.

One of the steps aimed at increasing profits will be the expansion of the range of Wagoneer S and Recon EV models, which are scheduled for release in the coming months. In addition to electric options, they can be replenished with gasoline modifications.
This step is technically possible thanks to the STLA Large platform, which underlies the new Dodge Charger. This is an EV-centric architecture capable of accommodating a full-size internal combustion engine. By the way, the new generation Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio will receive a similar platform.
Previously, the company set a very ambitious goal - to reach the level of 1000000 sales per year in the US market. But even with gas versions of the Wagoneer S and Recon, complemented by electric-powered models, that goal still seems out of reach.
The release of more affordable cars with the usual gasoline engines could solve the problem of constantly falling Jeep sales. This is partly due to their lower cost compared to electric vehicles, the interest in which is no longer the same as a couple of years ago.
Meanwhile, the 600-horsepower Wagoneer S is due to go on sale this summer and will be produced through 2024. The SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3,5 seconds and is positioned as the fastest Jeep in the history of the brand.

According to official information, the Wagoneer S will have a range of about 600 km on a single charge and two electric motors that form an all-wheel drive transmission. According to company representatives, the model will attract the attention of those who are interested in Tesla, but want something more complex.
The smaller Recon will be officially unveiled at the end of 2024 and will go on sale in 2025. Apart from the fact that the car will be built on the STLA Large platform, no details are known about it. Clearly it should be smaller than the Wagoneer S.
