AvtoVAZ insists on raising the recycling fee by three times – drivers’ opinions

AvtoVAZ insists on raising the recycling fee by three times – drivers’ opinions
The head of AvtoVAZ continues to fight to strengthen the position of domestic cars in the domestic market. He insists on increasing the recycling fee for foreign-made cars imported into Russia.

This time, ordinary drivers are targeted, choosing cars with an engine capacity of one to two liters. Let us remind you that these are the ones that make up the main domestic vehicle fleet.

Fans of foreign cars are unlikely to be pleased with the proposal of the head of AvtoVAZ. They already believe that paying 300 thousand rubles in recycling tax is unfair. But if the proposal of AvtoVAZ management is accepted, then by 2029 the rates will increase to 1 million.

The first stage should take place now. According to it, by the end of 2024, rates will increase from 300 to 550 thousand rubles. This will force many to refuse to purchase cars from abroad, because they will definitely become more expensive at all dealers. This will also affect Chinese models.

But AvtoVAZ will be “on horseback” - the domestic manufacturer will be able to keep prices at the same level. Accordingly, the demand for Lada cars will increase.

Here's what drivers think about this:

I'm wondering, has the head of AvtoVAZ heard anything about a market economy? Healthy competition and so on? Instead of fighting for the client, you need to whine, saying, help. Produce high-quality cars in different classes - you will be happy too!

– user “Haldex” starts the conversation

Let them answer me better: how many engines and gearboxes have AvtoVAZ engineers come up with over the past 30 years? It was new ones, and not modernized old Soviet developments, which, in fact, have Italian roots.

– user “Dark” asks a rhetorical question

Why fight if you can simply ask officials to “squeeze” your competitors? The Chinese will be forced to set prices higher, so AvtoVAZ will be able to sell at the same level. But they will also increase the cost. They will blame it on inflation, partners’ appetites, rising prices for materials and labor.

– says Pavel Petrovich

When you can’t do anything yourself, it’s easier to ban.

– user “Lehach” joins the conversation

The Chinese will not leave it like that. They also supply AvtoVAZ with a number of components. Prices will also increase. And if they want, they will set their own conditions. As a result, Lada cars will also become more expensive.

– user “Skorin” expressed his opinion

It was more honest under Renault...

– user “VitStar” ends the conversation.
