Mercedes will launch electric C-Class at the end of 2024

Mercedes is actively working on an all-electric lineup, which will include the entry-level CLA. Of course, that's not all. Of no less interest is the C-Class in EV version. One of the copies of this model was seen in camouflage.


The electric sedan follows in the footsteps of other members of the lineup, including the EQS and EQE. The design details are difficult to make out, but the general impression is this: the new product will have a streamlined and low body, like its “colleagues” from the EV category.


The arched front end of the petrol car gives way to a relatively short hood. This is logical - an electric power plant does not require as much space as an internal combustion engine. The wheelbase, on the contrary, is long, as is the roof, distinguished by sloping panoramic glazing.

Photographers were able to look inside the electric sedan. There are few details yet, but the vertical dashboard and horizontal information system screen are noticeable. Most likely, this is a budget version of MBUX Hyperscreen.

There is reason to believe that the group of displays in the electric Mercedes C-Class is similar to the one we can see in the previously announced CLA EV.

In the interior of the sedan there is nothing special to catch the eye, since the arrangement is well hidden. All that is visible except the displays is a three-spoke steering wheel and a built-in camera that “looks” inside the cabin. There are very few mechanical buttons, and in general the interior is minimalist.

There are no technical details on the electric Mercedes C-Class yet. There is information that the model will be based on the MB.EA platform, and in this way it differs from the previously mentioned CLA EV electric car. The latter, by the way, is based on the modular architecture of Mercedes MMA.


Interestingly, it was previously announced that the C-Class would be built on the Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture platform. It is already used for the manufacture of compact, middle-class cars.

It is expected that the electric C-Class will delight owners with a range of at least 480 km, which is a good indicator of autonomy in Europe and the USA. The official premiere of the car is planned for the end of 2024, and the first sales may begin in the first quarter of 2025.
