Opel Frontera returns – the manufacturer showed official photos
Opel has confirmed the launch of the revived Frontera model. The public was shown official photographs of the new product. But they are in no hurry to publish the technical characteristics.

The Opel Frontera returns after 20 years of oblivion. After all, the model was discontinued back in 2004 due to a catastrophic decline in demand. Realizing that a frame SUV is unlikely to interest a potential client in EU countries, it was decided to make the new Opel Frontera a crossover.

Moreover, it is compact and accessible to a wide range of drivers. In fact, the Frontera is a replacement for the Crossland model. And the familiar name is just an attempt to play on nostalgia.

Externally, the Opel Frontera looks more solid than the Crossland. Although the dimensions of the new crossover have not yet been made public, the photo shows that this car is larger than its immediate predecessor. Naturally, we are not talking about the old Frontera, because it was a fairly large frame SUV.

The manufacturer promised that the Opel Frontera will appear in the showrooms of official dealers in the summer. Specific prices were not announced, but they said they would be “attractive.”

Experts say that modifications with internal combustion engines will be offered for approximately 27 thousand euros (2,7 million rubles). Most likely, there will be no “pure” gasoline cars – only “mild” hybrids with a starter-generator.

The manufacturer has already announced an electric version of the Opel Frontera. Such a car will cost around 40 thousand euros (4 million rubles).

The crossover will be released only in five-seat versions. The three-row layout was abandoned for several reasons. Firstly, the Opel Frontera is a mid-size crossover. Secondly, the last row usually turns out to be defective anyway.

Thirdly, the remaining space was allocated for the luggage compartment, which is visually spacious here. The manufacturer promised that the volume will vary from 460 to 1 liters. The latter is with the rear seats folded to the floor.

The Opel Frontera multimedia system will be able to integrate any modern smartphone into it. This means that you can control options via your phone.

The cabin will have two large monitors, 10 inches each. They promise seats with lateral support and the Intelli system. The latter provides comfort on long trips thanks to a special subcoccal bulge.

We can only wait for the announcement of prices for new crossovers from Opel.
