The stylish iCar V23 SUV has been unveiled - it looks similar to the compact Mercedes G-Class

The Chinese brand iCar presented a new product – the V23 crossover. Features of the model - it is an electric car, plus there is the opportunity to choose a mono or all-wheel drive version.


But the main thing is the brutal design. It feels like Chinese engineers worked for Mercedes, trying to make a compact G-Class.

iCar Ecological Technology Co., Ltd is a “young” brand that introduced the first production model 03 only in 2024. It turns out that the V23 will become the brand’s second crossover.


In China, iCar electric cars are in demand. After all, the brand belongs to the Chery concern. Moreover, it was not bought out, but was founded specifically for the production of brutal crossovers. So you can be sure that this company is not a fly-by-night company. Behind it stands a concern with guarantees and a worldwide reputation.

Externally, the iCar V23 follows the style of the 03 model. It is the same square and brutal crossover, but more compact. Accordingly, it should be sold cheaper, although no one has announced the price yet. After all, the electric car has not yet been put into production.

The design of the iCar V23 is clearly inspired by bestsellers such as the Mercedes G-Class and Land Rover Defender. But this is a full-fledged crossover, not an SUV. Despite its brutal appearance, the model does not have a frame. And it is also deprived of various off-road “goodies”.

But it is known that the iCar V23 will be offered in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. There is no information about what engines they will have. But, most likely, the power plant will be identical to the larger iCar 03, except that the power may be reduced.

Let us remind you that the serial iCar 03 in rear-wheel drive version is equipped with one 184 hp engine. The all-wheel drive “top” version has a dual-engine power plant. Its total power is 279 “horses”.


The rear-wheel drive electric car will have a range of 400 km. The all-wheel drive iCar V23 will obviously receive a more powerful driving battery. After all, it has already been stated that it will be able to travel 500 kilometers on a single charge.

The iCar V23's cross-country ability, even without a frame and off-road options, should be quite good. The body length of 4,22 meters and short overhangs contribute to this. And the ground clearance here is good for a crossover - 212 mm.

The start of sales of the iCar V23 is scheduled for the second half of 2024. When this happens, the “parent” concern Chery will inform you in advance. Prices will be announced around the same time, most likely even a little earlier.
