Sales of the updated Chevrolet S10 pickup truck have started

The Chevrolet brand has started selling updated S10 pickups in South America. The car has changed externally and inside, and received a number of new options.


Let us remind you that the Chevrolet S10 is sold only in South America. This model debuted in 2012 and has been restyled several times. And the “twin brother” Chevrolet Colorado, which is offered in the USA, managed to change generation a couple of years ago.

But in Brazil, second-generation S10 pickups are still being assembled. They are cheaper and simpler in design, so they are in stable demand in South American countries.


After restyling in 2024, the Chevrolet S10 began to look more modern. The radiator grille has changed, stamping has appeared on the hood, new head optics and fog lights have appeared. The brand badge has been removed from the rear of the cargo platform and is now replaced by the letter name of the brand.

As for the body type, the Chevrolet S10 is currently offered only with a two-row, four-door saloon. These are the most expensive pickups in the line. Their prices are already known - they start at 281,9 thousand Brazilian reals (5,15 million rubles).

A little later, cheaper pickups will also appear on sale - two-door with a single-row cab. They are more suitable for farmers and rural residents.

Chevrolet S10 is offered in three trim levels. Each of them can be distinguished externally. The base Z71 received decorative elements along the bottom of the body made of black plastic. In the second, medium version LTZ, they are already painted in the main color. But in the “top” High Country version, the pickup received a set of chrome elements.

The salon became different after the renovation. A new steering wheel has appeared. It is adjustable in both height and reach. This makes it easier for the driver to get on and off.

The front panel is also new. She has a different electronic tidy and multimedia screen. Size – 8 and 11 inches respectively.

The front seats are new - with lateral support. Even in the basic configuration there is ESP and six airbags.


The Chevrolet S10 has only one engine option. It's atypical for American pickup trucks, but under the hood is a 2,8-liter Duramax diesel powerplant. The engine has been slightly modified - now it develops not 200, but 207 hp.

The gearbox is completely new. The 6-automatic transmission was replaced with an 8-automatic transmission. This unit was taken from the latest generation Chevrolet Colorado. With the new gearbox, the S10 is even more economical.

The pickup's acceleration to 100 km/h is not very impressive - 9,4 seconds. But this is more of a work car, it should not be dynamic.
