Soviet ZiD motorcycles were known primarily as “Voskhods”. And before that they were called “Kovrovtsy”. The model was given a new name for a reason. It’s hard to guess now, but in the mid-60s, when the new generation of motorcycles appeared, they didn’t think much about it. “Voskhod” was the name given to Soviet spaceships. So the bike supported the popular theme. “Through thorns to the stars” is just about those models. After all, they needed modifications from the factory, unlike the less complex but more reliable Minsks. However, the Kovrov motorcycle, which fell into the “right hands,” was superior to the models from the BSSR in all respects.
Sunrise 2, which was restored by the authors of the ZED Myzikant channel, looks as if it was teleported straight from 1972, when this model was first put on the assembly line. Moreover, there is a feeling that this first batch is the one that is exemplary. It’s simply impossible to find fault with this Voskhod 2 – it’s perfect. The craftsmen tried to preserve the entire Soviet atmosphere. Even the wiring looks like it was made in the USSR. The motorcycle is beautiful - even now for an exhibition. By the way, do you know that this model was even produced in Syria? The corresponding agreement was signed in 1973. It is unknown exactly how many motorcycles were assembled in this distant country, but they are still remembered there.
