Prices for the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor are already known. For a car they ask from 773 rupees (500 thousand rubles). It turns out that local drivers can buy a “real” Toyota, and even a crossover, for the price of a Lada Granta.
True, there is a nuance with the originality of the model. No, the car is Japanese, it’s hard to argue with that. Although its production was established in India, the Urban Cruiser Taisor was developed by engineers from the Land of the Rising Sun. The problem is that Suzuki specialists did it. And the original model from this brand is called Fronx.

But since both companies cooperate, they often produce cars on the same chassis. The Urban Cruiser Taisor differs from the Fronx only in minor changes outside and inside.
The crossover from Toyota received a different radiator grille and optics. The first is completely original, and the second has received minor changes. The front bumper of Toyota is slightly modified, but the rear bumper remains the same as that of the “donor”.
In terms of dimensions, the crossovers are completely identical. The length of the Urban Cruiser Taisor is almost 4 meters. These are the peculiarities of local legislation - in India it is profitable to produce and sell cars with a body whose dimensions do not exceed these limits. If the car turns out to be longer, then taxes will increase significantly.
Despite its compact size, the crossover can seat five people. There is even a small trunk with a capacity of 308 liters. In the “top” configuration, which costs about 50% more, Toyota boasts climate control and cruise control, and even all-round cameras.

Under the hoods of the crossovers is one of two gasoline engines. In the basic version, it is a 1,2-liter power unit with a power of 90 hp. Gearboxes paired with this engine can be of two types - a 5-speed manual transmission or a “robot”.
More expensive versions of compact crossovers from Toyota are equipped with liter turbo engines with a power of 100 hp. This power unit can be paired with not only a manual transmission, but also a full-fledged six-speed automatic transmission.
Crossovers, regardless of configuration, have front-wheel drive. There is no 4x4 version and there never will be. They will turn out to be too expensive, and the model is positioned as a budget one.
