Motorcycles of the Jawa brand can be called Soviet. Although, if you look at it, they are rather socialist, because they were produced in Czechoslovakia and Czechoslovakia. But since most of the motorcycles were sent to the Soviet Union, they are familiar to almost every man who grew up during this time. And in the 90s, “Java” was in demand. Although Japanese, European and even American motorcycles began to be transported to Russia, ordinary guys, especially in rural areas, could not afford them.


Judging by the reviews, the most beautiful Jawa in our country is considered to be the “Old Lady”. This motorcycle debuted in 1962 and was supplied to the USSR in two versions - with 250 or 350 cm3 engines. The latest model was more popular. They especially loved her with the stroller, which also looked stylish in appearance. After all, in the 1960s, residents of the Soviet Union had few cars. Cars were expensive at first, and then there weren’t enough of them for everyone. We had to choose motorcycles, preferably with sidecars. After all, they acted as family transport. By the way, there was a choice - Izh, Ural and Dnepr. But only two-stroke models looked stylish. Opposites were produced in a harsh and purely utilitarian manner. In the USSR they were considered “collective farm”. And not only because of the appearance; rather, the power and “indestructibility” of the design played a role here. And the Jawa 360 with a sidecar was a dream, inaccessible not because of the price, but because of the small quantities of supplies, based on the scale of the USSR.
