Il-114-300 has started testing again

The United Aircraft Corporation has decided to resume flight tests of the Il-114 turboprop passenger aircraft, which were suspended in 2021. It became known that the second prototype took to the skies. This happened at the airfield of the LAZ aircraft plant (Lukhovitsy). The plane did not rise to a height above 900 meters, and moved at a speed of 230 km/h. The flight lasted for 40 minutes.


According to the crew commander, the event went smoothly and all onboard systems of the Il-114 worked correctly. Before this stage, a cycle of ground tests was also completed.


The Il-114 airliner is assembled exclusively from domestic components; the developer is the Russian enterprise PJSC Il. The new aircraft is equipped with TV7-117ST-01, which has been significantly modified. This power unit is easy to maintain and at the same time demonstrates increased power. The aircraft also received a new APU TA 14-114, which will provide it with autonomy at the stage of preparation for flight in conditions of an insufficiently equipped airfield.
