Volvo has shared details about the new generation of VNL trucks. These cars will be the safest models in their class. The manufacturer does not make “empty” statements - the information is confirmed by a detailed description of technical features.


First of all, the Volvo VNL will receive a number of active safety and driver assistance systems. These include the VADA package, which can be called a new generation of adaptive cruise control. The electronics will automatically maintain the set speed, taking into account the movement of traffic and the distance to passing cars.

The manufacturer claims that the VADA package minimizes the possibility of an accident due to the driver’s fault. Even if he hesitates, the truck will not only slow down, but also warn with sound and tactile signals. What exactly the latter will be is not disclosed, but most likely these will be strong vibrations that can rouse even a sleeping person.


There is also no need to be afraid of side collisions with a Volvo VNL truck. The VADA Plus system is responsible for preventing such situations. It will not only warn you that a third-party vehicle is approaching along a dangerous side path with an audible signal. Thanks to built-in cameras, sensors and lidars, the electronics will take control of the tractor. At the same time, the car can both maneuver in its own lane and change lanes into neighboring ones.

To help novice drivers in difficult conditions, the Volvo VNL tractor unit is equipped with VDS. It will allow you to maneuver a long trailer in the most cramped circumstances. You can safely move even towards the cliff to the limit - a rollover will not occur, the truck will stop on time.

The camera system is able to detect pedestrians and cyclists on all sides of the Volvo VNL over a long distance. At the same time, if necessary, the truck uses emergency braking. Naturally, taking into account cruising speed. They promise that with Volvo VNL you can forget about blind spots.
