Azerbaijani partners have already prepared the site. It has an unloading area for receiving vehicle kits, an assembly shop and a parking lot for finished cars. The staff is fully staffed - employees have undergone training organized by AvtoVAZ specialists.
There is also a site for sea trials. After completion of assembly, all Lada Grantas are tested for faults.

By the end of 2024, it is planned to assemble 1,5 thousand Lada Granta cars. Further, if the Niva and Vesta families join them, they plan to increase the number of cars to 4-5 thousand.
AvtoVAZ management is confident that the new enterprise will be a commercial success. After all, Lada cars have always been in demand in the local market. Of course, they are much inferior in terms of comfort, power and prestige to a number of foreign cars, but they are affordable. Considering that local purchasing power is low, this is relevant for sales of AvtoVAZ models.
Some people don’t understand why bother with assembly production at all. After all, it’s easier to immediately deliver finished cars. Moreover, volumes of several thousand units are not much for AvtoVAZ.
But there are nuances here too. Firstly, cars assembled in Azerbaijan will be considered domestic for this country. Accordingly, you will not have to pay import duties and other taxes for them.
Secondly, these are new jobs and experience for local industry. Possibility to launch production of some units and components for further localization of cars. And then, you see, in the future there will be our own model.
Thirdly, for AvtoVAZ this is an opportunity to gain a foothold in one of the foreign markets. And other countries bordering Azerbaijan may be interested.

The next model to be introduced in Azerbaijan will be Lada Niva. First, the “classic”, three-door, Legend series. The reason is simple - it is the most budget-friendly. And there are plenty of places in Azerbaijan that are difficult to reach by regular cars.
As for the Lada Vesta, its assembly is organized last. It all depends on the demand that is going to be tracked through dealerships.
How much they will ask for Lada cars in Azerbaijan is still unknown.
