All-wheel drive GAZ and Ural trucks on virgin snow - test of chains on wheels
Ural cars were originally created for one purpose - to conquer difficult terrain. It’s not for nothing that they were invented in the USSR for the military. The same needs to get to a certain point, but there may not be a road there. Now “Urals” are in demand in various fields. Many people use these models for travel, long trips for hunting and fishing. As for GAZ trucks, their task is primarily to work in the civilian sphere. However, the old “Lawns”, and the new ones too, have always been universal machines. High ground clearance ensured good maneuverability. But the Gorky Automobile Plant also has its own all-terrain vehicle in its line. Previously it was called GAZ-66, now it is Sadko NEXT.

The authors of the channel “TECHNIKA 4x4” use such trucks for field trips. During their next walk, they decided to check how chains on wheels would improve the cross-country ability of cars. It’s worth noting right away that this is not the most ideal solution for deep snow. After all, chains are more likely to be used on slippery surfaces. However, they were also useful for snow. Not to say that cross-country ability has increased significantly, but the GAZ Sadko NEXT drove a little more fun. But the Ural still turned out to be better, even though it has two rather than three axles. Engine power and driver experience decide – you have to live with it!
